- Art I (6th Grade) - introductory year-long course with an in-depth exploration of the principles of art, elements of design, art history, aesthetic criticism, and visual literacy.
- Art II (7th Grade) - students compare and contrast the principles of art and elements of design by illustrating ideas from direct observation, original sources, imagination, personal experiences, and communities using a variety of 2D, 3D, and digital media.
- Art III (8th Grade) - students compare and contrast the principles of art and elements of design by illustrating ideas from direct observation, original sources, imagination, personal experiences, and communities using a variety of 2D, 3D, and digital media.

Technology Applications (6th Grade)
Robotics (6th. 7th, and 8th Grades) - students learn the basics of mechanics, programming, and engineering, while they work in teams to design and build robots in a fun and challenging environment. Careers in robotics and engineering are discussed.
Other
Creating Writing/Literary Genres (8th Grade 1.0 HS Credit) - this combination of courses will each earn you a semester of high school elective English credit. Students will study literature in relevant genres as models for writing and as subjects for analysis.
Debate (6th, 7th, and 8th Grades) - promotes research, analysis, and public speaking skills in an educational environment of competition. Expectations include attendance at Saturday events and competitions.
Math Academic Competition (TMSCA) (6th, 7th, and 8th Grades) - preparation course for district academic competition with special emphasis on mathematics, calculator, and mental math. This course requires teacher approval and previous year STAAR test scores in mathematics to be at the Masters level. Expectations include attendance at Saturday events and competitions.
Science Academic Competition (TMSCA) (6th, 7th, and 8th Grades) - students will be challenged to explore a wide range of topics in problem-solving format. Participation in events and competitions such as TMSCA, Winston Science, Fluor Engineering Challenge, and others on several Saturdays is required.
School Newspaper (7th and 8th Grades) - this course involves the production of the school newspaper with emphasis on improving journalistic writing skills. Students will conduct interviews, write news stories, and study both print and online media.
