Overview
The application window is November 1st, 2025 through January 31st, 2026.
Families interested in applying must submit an application through the Choose Dallas ISD portal (SchoolMint) during the application window.
At William B. Travis Vanguard and Academy for the Academically Talented and Gifted (Travis TAG), we are dedicated to nurturing the unique potential of every learner. Our admissions process is designed to identify students who demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and a love of challenge.
We strive for transparency in our admissions process and strongly encourage families to carefully review the How to Apply section and all related documents to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and timelines.
For those attending a campus tour, the Q&A session with Principal Mercon and School Counselor Mr. Smith offers an opportunity to go in depth into important application information and learn more about what makes Travis TAG an exceptional place for gifted and talented education.

Grade 8 - 0
Qualified applicants who have been assigned a seat in the magnet program will be notified by e-mail via the SchoolMint system on March 1, 2026.
In April, current families will complete an Intent to Return survey. With that information, we will update our 2026-2027 openings for all grades at that time.
