High School Planning

Exploring Your Next Adventure

At Travis TAG, we believe preparing for high school is more than checking boxes. It is about discovering who you are, what excites you, and where your learning journey will take you next.
Our goal is to help every Timberwolf transition confidently into a high school that nurtures their passions, challenges their potential, and aligns with their future goals.

Ready to Begin Your High School Research?

Start exploring your options early!
Dallas ISD offers a wide range of choice programs, magnet schools, and specialty campuses, each designed to help you thrive in your area of interest.

  • Visit high school websites to learn about their programs and admission requirements.

  • Attend information nights or open houses when available.

Are You Ready to Apply?

The Dallas ISD Magnet and Choice School Application window opens November 1, 2025, and closes January 31, 2026.
Applications are submitted through the Dallas ISD Magnet/Choice Application Portal.
Plan ahead, gather your materials, and check each school’s specific requirements before applying.

Absences Related to High School Visits

Students in 7th and 8th grade may take up to two excused absences per school year for Dallas ISD high school visits.
To have your absence excused:

  1. Let the Dallas ISD high school know you will need documentation confirming your visit (campus tour, shadow day, or informational meeting).

  2. Bring that document back the day you return and submit it to the attendance office.

If you are exploring non-Dallas ISD or private schools, we encourage you to use evening open houses, virtual sessions, or non-instructional days whenever possible.
